Before surgery, I could NOT drive at night and it was difficult since I am a very independent person. Now after my first eye surgery, I am tickled pink! Can’t wait to have the other eye done!

I'm writing to thank you for being so helpful in getting my son in. I live in Redding - he's an adult student at CSU and he has Medi-cal, (not by choice but because he has very little income) which I know is extremely limiting in finding an MD. I would have rescued him as he needed to see someone quickly but Brittany was so helpful and Miles was so grateful for the help and treatment he received. - thank you for helping us.

Three and one-half years ago I suddenly developed a rare eye infection called uveitis. After 2 visits to walk-in clinics and 2 misdiagnoses, my wife said "we're going to the eye doctor." Dr. Val Shaw has been my ophthalmologist for many years, so we went to see him. Both Dr. Shaw and Dr. Isaac Barthelow saw me immediately and quickly diagnosed the situation. I was thoroughly examined and then treated with oral steroids and eye drops and was soon relieved to find the inflammation was decreasing. Unfortunately, over time I experienced multiple recurrence of the uveitis but was carefully monitored and treated and happily I can now say I have had no recurrence for over 6 months.
Right from the beginning of treatmentI I was seen almost daily, even after hours, and was treated with incredible kindness and efficiency. I truly do not know what I would have done without both Dr.s Shaw and Barthelow. It was Dr. Barthelow who took on the overall care of me, and I have found him to be very professional and thorough. He referred me to 2 different specialist in uveitis for further opinion on the course of treatment, and I was very appreciate of his obtaining additional expertise on my case.
I will forever be grateful to the excellent doctors at North Valley Eye Care. I can still see!
